Climatic Chambers

In the drive to create ever more lifelike test conditions climatic chambers (or environmental test chambers) are an essential facility. They provide engineers with the tools to replicate environmental conditions in a controlled manner. Being able to replicate environmental test conditions in a lab situation means test conditions can be repeated for long periods of time simulating product exposure over a lifetime. Climatic chambers can provide a wide variety of conditions, in many situtations they can combine complex environments. Vibration in association with temperature, humidity, rain, sunshine, altitude or other climatic conditions are a common requirement. Chambers of all shapes and sizes are available for testing everything from a PCB to a tank.

Climatic chamber complexity has developed over the years to offer computer control and integration with other connected equipment. This functionality enables the engineer full control to trigger specific events at the right part of a profile.
